GRADUATION 2020 UPDATE

Senior Class, We miss you and we love you! GRADUATION DAY 2020 WILL BE OUTSIDE, WITH YOUR CLASSMATES, AT MRHS!

We are so excited to provide our great senior class the most amazing send off in MRHS history - you deserve nothing less. We value student voice at MRHS and recently sent out a survey to get your input on what you wanted in your graduation and end of year celebrations. This special once in a lifetime experience also impacts our families, so we also wanted to hear from our parents and guardians.

Highlights from the survey results:

• Preference location of commencement ceremony to be at MRHS (85%)
• Preference to have commencement ceremony for only students in attendance if necessary to abide by social distancing guidelines (84%)
• Preference to move the date later (77%)
• Preference to have senior week activities
• Preference to have a parade through Harwich & Chatham to involve and celebrate with the community

GRADUATION 2020 - OUR PLAN

BASED ON SENIOR STUDENT/FAMILY FEEDBACK & SAFETY FOR OUR MRHS SCHOOL FAMILY

A graduation ceremony that allows our seniors the opportunity to attend their graduation in person at MRHS!

1. New Graduation Date: June 23, 2020

• Aligns with the overwhelming majority of seniors/families to move the date later
• A date that best permits all students the ability to attend

2. Evening event: 8 pm start

• A special celebration under the lights on our turf game field!
• Parade through each town to kick-off graduation (TBD)

3. Commencement Ceremony: Following State & Local Safety Guidelines

• Students Only with theater-like graduation virtually presented on a giant screen
• Social Distancing protocols in place similar to recent Air Force Academy (picture above) and MA State Police Graduations (picture below)
• Live Streamed for families, community and relatives to enjoy
• Social Distancing protocols in place (specific details to follow)
• Convocation/Scholarships presented at graduation
• Throwing of the caps into the air as a class!

We will be sending out more specifics regarding graduation in the weeks to come. If you have any specific questions please reach out to the administrative team. We are looking forward to celebrating with our senior class in a memorable and very special graduation ceremony. #Monomoystrong
