District and School DESE Report Card

Monomoy Regional School District Report Card

February 2025

Each year, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) produces a Report Card for all school districts across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Each district’s report card provides the public with information about the qualifications of the teachers working in the district, the student demographics of the district, recent assessment information (MCAS), the types of academic programs offered, information on school spending, and more. Please click here to access this year’s report card for Monomoy Regional School District.

In our review of our report card, we have identified the following areas of strength:

  • MRSD chronic absenteeism data has decreased by over 50% in the last three years from 26.4% of students being chronically absent in 2022 to 20.6% in 2023 to 12.8% in 2024;
  • The percentage of 11th and 12th-grade students completing at least one advanced course continues to rise from 60.9% in 2022 to 70.6% in 2024;
  • Based on MCAS growth scores for grades 4-10, MRSD continues to meet typical progress in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Since last year’s release of the district report cards, Monomoy Regional School District has developed and published our new 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. The new strategic plan has three identified goals with multiple action steps that will guide the operation of our school, from professional development to curriculum planning to family engagement, over the next several years. The three priority goals are:

  • Portrait of a Graduate Implementation
  • Learning and Academics
  • Being and Wellness

Additionally, each school has a school council that has developed its own School Improvement Plans (SIP). To view each individual improvement plan, visit our School Improvement Plan page on our website.

Finally, since each MRSD school receives Title I funds, all caregivers have the right to request the following information about your child’s teacher:

  • Whether your child’s teacher is licensed in the grade levels and subject they teach
  • Whether your child’s teacher is teaching under an emergency license or waiver
  • The college degree and major of your child’s teacher
  • Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.

If you have questions about our district’s report card, would like to become involved in school improvement activities, or would like to request information about the qualifications of your child’s classroom teacher/paraprofessional, please reach out to your building principal or to Robin Millen, Ed.D., Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, at rmillen@monomoy.edu
