Mission Statement

Monomoy Regional School District places students at the center of an educational partnership with caregivers and the community to create a welcoming and innovative learning environment that builds relationships, encourages curiosity, and elevates all students to achieve their full potential.

School Description
Monomoy Regional High School opened in September 2014 following the merger of the Chatham and Harwich districts.  MRHS is a comprehensive high school with approximately 700 students in grades 8-12.  Combining the excellent academic and co-curricular offerings of both Chatham and Harwich High Schools in a state-of-the-art facility allows students a broad range of electives and opportunities for enrichment.

Vision Statement
Monomoy is committed to being an exemplary school district, inspiring students to become civic-minded in their decision-making, confident in their communication, flexible in their problem-solving, creative in their expression, resilient in their response to challenge, attentive to global responsibilities, and ready to succeed in the future.

Community Description
The towns of Harwich and Chatham are located on the southern coastline of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  The Monomoy district consists of two elementary schools grades K-4, one middle school grades 5-7, and one high school grades 8-12.  While cranberry farming and fishing are still native occupations, the economy is primarily supported by tourism and related industries.  The combined towns’ population is approximately 20,000; the seasonal population swells to over 60,000 in the summer months.  Family incomes vary widely within the district; approximately 35% of our high school students are classified as low-income.
