Monomoy Regional School Committee launches Superintendent search process

Monomoy Regional School Committee launches Superintendent search process

With the retirement of Monomoy Superintendent Dr. Scott Carpenter at the end of this school year, the Monomoy Regional School Committee has engaged the Massachusetts Association of School Committees to assist in the search for the next Superintendent. While the School Committee has the sole authority to appoint the Superintendent, the Committee welcomes input from the school community.

There will be multiple opportunities for all members of our school community to participate in this process:

  • Complete the survey open to all families, staff, students, and community members – this will ask about the qualities the next Superintendent should possess. This survey will close October 20 at 5 p.m.
  • Attend a Community Forum on October 16, where attendees can discuss what they hope to see in the next Superintendent – there will be sessions for students, staff, and families/community members.
    • High School Student forum: Jawsome block
    • Staff forum: 3:30-5:00 p.m., Monomoy Regional High School Library
    • Parent/caregiver/community member forum: 5:30-7:00 p.m., Monomoy Regional Middle School Auditorium
  • There will also be an opportunity to meet finalists at several forums the week of December 15.
  • In addition, the School Committee will appoint a Screening Committee composed of students, staff, and parents/caregivers.

Selecting a new Superintendent is an important decision for the Monomoy community, and the School Committee appreciates the participation of a wide range of voices in the process.

Information about this process will be posted on the MRSD website. Contact Monomoy School Committee Chair Meredith Henderson at meredith.henderson@monomoy.edu with any questions.
